Kefi – Alleged Wage & Hour Violations
On March 15, 2012, Joseph & Kirschenbaum LLP filed a class action lawsuit against Kefi, a Greek restaurant on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and its owner and executive chef Michael Psilakis. The Plaintiffs—composed of current and former waiters, bar backs, busboys, and runners—allege that Defendants shaved hours from their time records, failed to pay the overtime premium for hours worked in excess of forty per week, misappropriated tips to managers, and failed to pay the spread-of-hours premium.
